Reward is a word we love. It means that we have done something in such a way that something is going to come to us that pleases us, that benefits us.
What is said is that many people want the reward without the work. They want the prize on the back end but have not done anything on the front end.
Today, kids play games and they all get trophies. We love all the kids, but sorry, the trophies should go to the kids that win, to be a reward. The ought to be a reason for the trophy other than the fact you showed up.
If you just show up each day, there should be no reward. If you just wake up each day, toss the blankets off, get up and just walk, sorry, but there should be no reward.
Rewards should be for those who make a diligent and intentional effort to do well for themselves, and do well for others.
